Individual Therapy for Adults
Between major life changes and the weight of the past, it’s easy to feel like you’re caught in a crossfire of conflicting emotions and internal noise. In our individual sessions, we trade self-judgment for curiosity. I specialize in helping adults explore the different parts of who they are—especially those parts that feel stuck in anxiety or trauma—to develop a new, healthier relationship from the inside out.
You lead the way—you are the expert of your life—and I am here to walk right alongside you. My role is to help you untangle anxiety, process trauma, and rediscover who you are underneath it all.
If you’re waiting for a sign to start, this is it. You don’t need to have all the answers—or even a clear list of goals—before you reach out.
I offer 45-60 minute therapy sessions in person and online, whichever is convenient for you. I accept both insurance and private pay (cash/card).
How We’ll Work Together
-
Sometimes, our brains get "stuck" on difficult past experiences. EMDR helps unlock those memories, allowing your brain’s natural healing process to resume. It’s not just about talking; it’s about changing how your brain and body hold onto the past.
-
We all have different "parts" of ourselves—the critic, the achiever, the wound-bearer. I use IFS to help you get to know these parts with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment, leading to a centered, "Self-led" life.
-
This approach shifts the lens from the "problem" to the "solution" by focusing on your inherent strengths and past successes. We work together to envision your preferred future and identify the small, manageable steps needed to make that vision a reality.
-
DBT provides a robust toolkit for building "emotional muscle" through mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It is designed to help you navigate intense emotions and high-stress situations without feeling like you’re losing control.
-
CBT focuses on the powerful link between your thoughts, feelings, and actions to help you identify "thinking traps." By restructuring negative thought patterns, we can actively shift your emotional state and create more helpful behavioral responses.
-
MI is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication used to strengthen your own personal motivation and commitment to change. It is particularly helpful for resolving ambivalence and tapping into your internal "why" when you feel stuck between where you are and where you want to be.
Investment & Insurance
I currently accept United Healthcare and Aetna (with Anthem joining the team very soon!).
Insurance: Your copay depends on your specific plan. I recommend reaching out to your provider to confirm your coverage details (see below).
Private Pay: My rate for a 60-minute session is $150.
Flexible Options: I also accept HSA/FSA cards and private self-pay.
If you choose to use insurance, please note that it’s your responsibility to confirm what your plan covers. Any co-pays, co-insurance, or unmet deductibles will be due at the time of service. Credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards accepted.
If, for any reason, your insurance denies the claim or there is a lapse in your coverage, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session.
Clients are responsible for confirming their own insurance benefits and coverage details to ensure clarity regarding their financial responsibilities.
What to Expect
Taking the first step is often the hardest part—but once you’re in, we’re a team. Here is how we get the ball rolling.
Step 1: The Meet & Greet (Consultation)
It all starts with a free 15-minute consultation. This is our chance to see if the 'vibe' is right! We’ll chat about what’s bringing you in and how my approach can help you. No pressure, just a quick connection to see if we’re a winning match. You are also free to skip this step if you prefer and schedule a first appointment without the full consultation call.
Step 2: The Paperwork (Easy & Digital)
Nobody likes a mountain of forms! Once we decide to work together, I’ll send you a link to my secure client portal. Everything is 100% digital, so you can fill out your info from your couch. We’ll handle the insurance and 'fine print' here so our session time stays focused on you.
Step 3: Our First Session (The Deep Dive)
In our first full hour, we’ll create a treatment plan together. This session is all about exploration. We’ll start identifying the different 'parts' of your story and pinpointing the areas where you feel stuck. This session is more of an interview. Think of this as the 'scouting' phase where we build the map for our journey ahead.
Step 4: Finding Your Flow (Ongoing Sessions)
This is where the real work and change happens. Whether we are meeting virtually or in-person, our sessions are a collaborative space. Some weeks we’ll do deep trauma processing; other weeks we’ll celebrate your 'small wins' and tackle the week’s challenges. I often like to check in on the takeaways from the session and what you want to work on between sessions.
